Will Davison and Shell V-Power Racing Team to part ways at end of 2025

October 31, 2025

Shell V-Power Racing Team (Dick Johnson Racing) today announced that two-time Repco Bathurst 1000 winner Will Davison will depart the team at the end of the season, with his 600th career race start at Sandown in two weeks’ time providing a fitting milestone before his last lap with the team on the streets of Adelaide.

The decision brings to an end a partnership that has delivered multiple race wins, podiums and pole positions across two stints from 2005-2008 and 2021-2025, with both parties agreeing the time is right to pursue new opportunities.

Davison, a two-time Bathurst 1000 winner and one of Australian motorsport's most respected drivers, reflected on the decision with characteristic pragmatism.

"I've had two great stints with this team, and I'm incredibly proud of what we achieved together. It's the right time for both of us to move forward. To achieve 600 starts at Sandown - a track that means so much to my family - is special. I'll be giving it everything across these final two rounds," Davison said.

Team Founder and Co-Owner Dick Johnson AM paid tribute to Davison's contribution to the team.

"Will's been family to us, and that won't change. He's a champion and a true professional. These last two rounds, we'll be doing everything we can to send him off with the results he deserves. That's what you do for blokes like Will," Johnson said.

The Shell V-Power Racing Team will announce its 2026 driver lineup in coming days.
