Sunday's race had it all - rain, heat and bright sunshine as the opening round of the Repco Supercars Championship came to a dramatic conclusion.
Shell V-Power Mustang pilots Brodie Kostecki and Rylan Gray both narrowly missed out on qualifying for the Top 10 Shootout, starting Sunday's race from 11th and 15th respectively.
Once the green flag waved and the lights went out there were plenty of battles up and down the field, with both drivers enjoying plenty of action on track and completing some seriously impressive overtaking.
The heavens opened midway through the race, but both Kostecki and Gray stayed on slicks and continued to improve as the race went on.
Both drivers were also caught up in incidents throughout the race, each falling foul of the Motorsport Australia Stewards.
Despite that, for Gray in particular his race was his best of the weekend, overcoming the penalty and ending the race in 11th.
Kostecki, meanwhile, was handed a last-minute penalty which saw him drop to 12th once the times had been finalised.
Despite the less than ideal finish on Sunday, Kostecki leaves Sydney Motorsport Park in fifth in the Drivers' Championship standings, while Gray sits 18th - the second best of all Supercars 2026 rookies.
It's a quick turnaround for the Shell V-Power Racing Team, with the Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix to get underway on 5-8 March at Albert Park in Melbourne.
