It was a perfect Sunday for Brodie Kostecki who steered his Shell V-Power Mustang to another race win at the Australian Grand Prix which sees him top the Repco Supercars Championship standings.
Kostecki started from the second row of the grid, but made quick work of his opposition as he charged through the field.
The #17 Shell-V Power Mustang made two clean passes early in the race and was once again challenging for the lead with a one second gap to the front-runner midway through the race.
Kostecki quickly caught up to the leader and in the final laps of the race and claimed the lead to well and truly cement his round victory and the prestigious Larry Perkins Trophy.
Rylan Gray also had a strong morning on track, starting in P16 he managed to avoid the chaos at turn 1 in the opening lap. Despite suffering damage to the car and a flat tyre, Gray was able to return to the track and put in a strong drive to finish the race in 14th.
With 3 race wins, a second place and plenty of positions gained, Kostecki now leads the Drivers Championship heading into the New Zealand double header next month.
The Shell V-Power Racing Team also made up ground in the Teams' Championship, sitting in fourth place and just 14 points behind the team in third and only 71 points behind the leading team.
