The Shell V-Power Racing Team is giving a playful nod to the biggest little troublemakers around at the Townsville 500.
Our two Shell V-Power Mustangs will wear fresh liveries for the weekend, exchanging their usual red hues for ‘Minion’ yellow.
The change is in honour of the exclusive Minions & Monsters Bag Buddy collectibles currently on sale at Shell Reddy Express and Shell OTR around Australia.
Released to celebrate the new Minions & Monsters movie that is currently in cinemas, there are eight bag buddies to collect. They come in the increasingly popular ‘blind box’ format – you don’t know which character you’re getting until you open it!

Yellow-coloured cars have been very good to our team over the years.
We won the 1994 Bathurst 1000 and 1995 championship with predominantly yellow cars, and our last yellow look – for our wildcard entry in the 2023 Bathurst 1000 – quickly became a fan favourite and remains so to this day.
The yellow-liveried Shell V-Power Mustangs will have their first public outing in Thursday afternoon’s Track to Town event ahead of their race debut on Friday afternoon.
Brodie Kostecki enters the weekend fourth in points after withdrawing from the Sunday race at the Darwin Triple Crown; he will be back aboard Car 17 in Townsville.
Rylan Gray sits 21st in points ahead of his Supercars debut in Townsville, having made three previous starts at the Reid Park street circuit in other categories.

It’s great to be able to partner with Shell Reddy Express and Shell OTR in such a fun promotion of such a globally popular phenomenon in the Minions. Yellow has been a winning colour for us in the past, and the fan comments under a recent social media post from Shell Australia reminded us of just how well-received our yellow wildcard entry was at Bathurst in 2023. Keep your eyes peeled for some neat Minions-themed touches trackside and on our social media channels over the weekend.

Working alongside our long-standing partner Dick Johnson Racing, we're excited to bring this fun Minions campaign to life for fans and customers. The team's yellow Townsville livery provides the perfect platform to celebrate our exclusive Minions & Monsters Bag Buddies collection and the latest Minions movie release, creating a memorable experience both at the track and across our Shell Reddy Express and OTR network. We can't wait to see fans embrace the campaign and get involved in the fun.
