Shell V-Power Racing Team drivers Will Davison and Brodie Kostecki arrived in Perth and caught up with the Socceroos ahead of their respective events this week.
The Socceroos will feature in an important World Cup Qualifier on Thursday night, before our Supercars stars compete at Wanneroo Raceway on 6-8 June 2025.
Joining the Socceroos and Shell V-Power Racing Team drivers was Deputy Premier of Western Australia, Rita Saffioti.
The Deputy Premier and the drivers spoke about the importance of the proposed Perth street circuit, which is expected to join the Supercars' calendar in 2027 and beyond.
Davison - who is the current driver with the most wins in Perth - also spoke about the importance of the street circuit.
"I'm a huge supporter of supporting local motorsport circuits, but it's our cars at street events that are special," Davison said.
"You're bringing your sport to the people, particularly in the heart of the CBD.
"You know, we have our diehard fans that love Supercars, love motorsport. There's a lot of people that are on the fence and until they come and experience it first hand, and feel that it's much more than a motorsport event, there's so much going on at street events that are good for the kids, good for the family. There's entertainment everywhere you look left, right and centre, and you feel that around a street track."
Teammate Kostecki, a Perth-born local, echoed those sentiments.
"I've been very privileged to be a part of some of the circuit design that's been going on behind the scenes for the new street circuit and yeah, there's going to be a lot of great uses for that venue year-round," Kostecki said.
"It's going to bring a lot of new people into our sport and it's going to be right in the heart of Perth city, which is going to be fantastic as well."
The 2025 Perth Super440 takes place at Wanneroo Raceway on 6-8 June.
