Shell V-Power Racing Team claims second on Saturday at AusGP

March 7, 2026

It was a third podium for Brodie Kostecki and the Shell V-Power Mustang in Saturday's solo race at the Australian Grand Prix.

Kostecki qualified in 3rd position earlier in the day, setting up another chance at three victories from three starts in Melbourne. The #17 Shell-V Power Racing Mustang quickly moved forward in the opening laps of the race, quickly gaining position to challenge for the win at the front of the field in second.

There was plenty of chaos throughout the chasing pack, bringing two safety car periods and ultimately forcing a time-certain finish.

During the final laps, Kostecki challenged for the lead but according to Kostecki himself, he "didn’t quite have enough”.

Despite narrowly missing out on the win, Kostecki remains hopeful for tomorrow’s race, saying that the car “feels like it’s getting better and better”.

Rylan Gray had a challenging race but was able to gain a number of positions after starting in 23rd position. The 19-year-old did well to avoid the chaos that unfolded around him.

The final race of the Repco Supercars Championship at the Australian Grand Prix will get underway at 10:10am tomorrow (AEDT), with Kostecki starting from 4th and Gray starting from 16th.
