Saturday is in the books for the Repco Supercars Championship, with the Shell V-Power Racing Team seeing mixed results across a busy day of racing.
THE RESULTS:
Race 23:
Brodie Kostecki: P5
Will Davison: P22
Race 24:
Brodie Kostecki: P24
Will Davison: P10
THE DETAILS:
Qualifying for Race 23 saw Kostecki taking part in both parts of the qualifying session, ultimately lining up on the grid in fifth. Davison was unable to make the second part of qualifying, starting from 24th.
The race was a mixed affair, with Kostecki's pace consistent throughout the 39-lap affair. He would end the race where he started in fifth.
For Davison, his race pace was strong but a 15-second penalty proved costly, largely in part thanks to a late-race safety car which bunched the field and saw him lose a number of spots in the final classifications once the penalty was applied.
In Saturday's second race, both drivers were further down the grid, with Kostecki in 14th and Davison in 16th.
On the opening lap, disaster struck for Kostecki, forced to return to the pits after falling victim to a chaotic turn one incident. A mammoth effort from the Shell V-Power Racing Team saw him return to the race to be a classified finisher and collect valuable points with a final finishing position of 24th.
Davison though enjoyed a much stronger day. He powered through the field with some impressive moves to end in 10th and set up a solid foundation for Sunday.
