Provisional pole for Kostecki at 2025 Repco Bathurst 1000

October 10, 2025

Brodie Kostecki has driven his Shell V-Power Mustang to provisional pole at Mount Panorama, edging out his rivals in one of the closest qualifying sessions in recent times.

Kostecki put in a stellar performance to give him prime position for Saturday's Top Ten Shootout, with the aim of putting the #38 on pole for the great race, alongside co-driver Todd Hazelwood.

The lap which saw him claim provisional pole was one that the Shell V-Power Racing Team was exceptionally proud of.

“That was probably one of the best laps of my career to be honest,” said Kostecki.

“We haven’t really worked on the car in quali trim that much, it feels pretty stable in race trim, but it’s been a little bit evil in qualifying, to be honest.

“We’ll get stuck into some race runs tomorrow before the Shootout. I’m feeling pretty excited about the race on Sunday.”

On the other side of the garage it was a tricky afternoon for Will Davison and Tony D'Alberto. Davison had looked strong in qualifying but a brush of the wall upset his rhythm as he battled traffic to try and find the best possible time.

Davison and D'Alberto are now confirmed to start the race from P14 on Sunday morning.
