On the final day of the Gold Coast 500 Anton De Pasquale in the No.11 Shell V-Power Mustang qualified P7 which saw him through to the Top Ten Shootout: teammate, Will Davison in the No.17 Shell V-Power Mustang qualified P16.

De Pasquale’s TTSO lap came to a disappointing early finish after a kerb strike at the Turn 2 chicane, which meant he started Race 26 in P10.

At the conclusion of Race 26 Davison maintained his starting grid position, finishing P16. While De Pasquale finished P21 after battling with electrical issues throughout the race.

DE PASQUALE QUOTE

“Sunday at Gold Coast done. We had a bit better speed today making the shootout which was cool but I had a bit of a moment in the shootout with a kerb hop. Overall though it was a decent improvement in speed overnight, which carried over a little bit into the race as well. We were fighting in and around the Top Ten and that was sort of where we were looking but unfortunately, I had a decent electrical issue which ended our day.”

W. DAVISON QUOTE

“Very, very difficult day, certainly not through a lack of effort from the team though. I’m just shattered for everyone but we tried our hardest. We made some big changes, the car was very different today so there’s certainly lots to look at.  We got a lot of knowledge from today, and we’ve got a lot to look into but unfortunately, it didn’t translate into any performance. We went very aggressive in strategy, which was just way too hard on the tyres. I think I might have picked up a bit of damage on a kerb mid-race as well. So I just really wasn’t competitive. We gave it everything but unfortunately, it was just a difficult weekend, but these weekends happen in motorsport and as much as it’s hurting now, we will bounce back.”
