Brodie Kostecki secures historic victory on the streets of Townsville

July 11, 2025

Brodie Kostecki has locked away his first victory for the Shell V-Power Racing Team on a hugely successful Friday on the streets of Townsville.

The lights to flag victory came after Kostecki claimed his third pole position of the season earlier in the day in what was a commanding race win for the 2023 Supercars Champion.

It was a strong day on both sides of the Shell V-Power Racing Team Garage, with Will Davison enjoying a third place start thanks to his impressive qualifying effort.

Davison would finish the race in 7th - banking hugely valuable points in the Teams' Championship.

Kostecki beat fellow Ford Mustang pilot Cam Waters off the start line and didn't look back, with 35 laps of superb racing delivering a historic win for the team.

Understandably, Kostecki was delighted with to be standing on the top step of the podium for the first time in his Shell V-Power Racing Team colours.

"This is just fantastic for everyone at Shell V-Power Racing," Kostecki said.

"Everyone has been working very, very hard to get some speed back in the cars and we've showed some signs a few rounds ago, but yeah, weren't really translating to wins. So, yeah super stoked to win today and get the monkey off the back."

The Shell V-Power Mustangs return to the track tomorrow for qualifying, Top 10 Shootout & 200km race before doing it all again on Sunday.
