Brodie Kostecki has claimed back-to-back victories in the Repco Supercars Championship at the Australian Grand Prix, steering his Shell V-Power Mustang to the top step of the podium.
It was an exciting race with the #17 starting on the front row. Kostecki made a great jump, holding position behind the race leader.
Not long into the race, Kostecki set up a clean pass perfectly at turn 11 which saw him take the lead and from there he wasn't troubled. Despite some late pressure all the way to the chequered flag, Kostecki crossed the line first to claim his second win of the round.
After starting from the rear of grid after clutch issues in qualifying yesterday, Rylan Gray had a challenge ahead of him but he lived up to the task. The #38 Shell V-Power Mustang made impressive ground, battling through the field to take 15th place by the end of the race, even with damage to the front right tyre that hampered his speed.
There are two more races to come this weekend, one a piece on Saturday and Sunday. Qualifying for both races will take place tomorrow morning, with the first session commencing at 9am (AEDT).
