DJR Makes Significant Management Appointments

Dick Johnson Racing (DJR) today announced two appointments within its management team at their Headquarters in Queensland. Scott Jennings has joined the team as Chief Operating Officer and Kel Constantine takes up a position of PR & Marketing Manager.

Dick Johnson, Owner and Principal, Dick Johnson Racing, commented, “As we expand into a fourcar operation in 2012, it was essential we filled our team with passionate and experienced motorsport professionals who understand we are first and foremost a business who goes motor racing, and not a motor racing team who happens to do business. We have found this is Scott and Kel.”

Previously, Mr Jennings was the Commercial Operations Manager at Paul Morris Motorsports, where he oversaw all the commercial arrangements. Scott has over 20 years motorsport industry experience and has with a number of teams.

Stepping into the role at DJR, Mr Jennings commented, “Joining the longest running team in Australian motorsport and being able to work with people such as Dick and Malcolm [Swetnam, Team Manager] is a fantastic opportunity. I look forward to steering DJR in an upward direction as we enter this new 4-car phase of this iconic sporting organisation.”

Ms Constantine joins DJR with over 12 years marketing experience, having worked with organisations such as MasterCard, as the Senior Sponsorship & PR Manager, Australasia and in recent years years, spearheading the sponsorship and public relations team at Beam Global. Ms Constantine was instrumental in developing the relationship between DJR and Jim Beam. For the last 20 months, she has been running her own marketing consultancy, Katshu Marketing & Management, which she will continue to whilst undertaking the role with DJR.

“Having worked with Dick and DJR for the last 6 years, its great to be finally joining the team, which I am very passionate about,” Ms Constantine says.

“I’m excited about the opportunities 2012 brings with new cars, new drivers and new sponsors. We are an iconic team with a great story to tell and I look forward to showcasing our team and partners in the coming months.”

Both appointments are effective immediately and are based out of the the Dick Johnson Racing Headquarters at Staplyton, QLD.

The V8 Supercar Season kicks off with a free Test Day for fans at Sandown Raceway on Saturday 11th February, followed by the season opener, the Clipsal 500 in Adelaide, SA from 1st - 4th March 2012.
